In Question Time in Parliament today, Labor’s Planning Minister, Richard Wynne refused to commit to fix his own flawed planning scheme amendment that allows magnificent heritage homes to be demolished.
Richard Wynne’s amendment to Boroondara Planning Scheme C299 disgracefully allows heritage homes to be destroyed even when they are protected by a heritage overlay.
There are currently six properties in Hawthorn and Kew threatened by demolition orders.
According to the Andrews Labor Government, the congested Eastern Freeway is worthy of heritage protection, but not heritage homes.
Daniel Andrews and his dithering Minister must immediately act to fix this mess before more of Melbourne’s magnificent heritage homes are razed to the ground.
