Correspondence between Labor’s Minister for Planning, Dick Wynne and former Labor MPs, Judith Graley and Jude Perera, into the controversial Casey Planning Scheme Amendment C219 must be released today.
A Freedom of Information request submitted by Shadow Minister for Planning, Tim Smith to the Minister for Planning, has revealed 76 records of documents relating to the tainted C219, including key correspondence from the two former Labor Members for Narre Warren South and Cranbourne.
However, the release of these 76 identified records has been refused.
Documents between former Labor MPs is extremely important into the John Woodman controversy so why won’t Dick Wynne release them?
Public hearings into John Woodman and the City of Casey recommence at IBAC on 2 March.
Apart from their connections with John Woodman in the City of Casey, another controversial project involving Woodman was Martha Cove, a $650 million canal-style development at Safety Beach on the Mornington Peninsula, which finally won State Labor approval in late 2002 following political donations.
Judith Graley was Mayor of Mornington Peninsula Shire in 2001 and councillor until 2003.

“Labor and Dick Wynne have blocked the release of key documents into C219, and those key documents need to be released this afternoon.
“The games of Labor refusing key FOI documents needs to come to an end. This is an issue that not only has high public interest, but also the stench of a cover up direct from the Planning Minister’s office.
“Given the thousands of dollars donated to the Labor Party by John Woodman, the community deserves to know exactly what influence Judith Graley and Jude Perera exerted over Dick Wynne.”
